Born and raised in Los Angeles, my passion for fashion and art has been obvious throughout my childhood. I spent most of my youth growing up in my mother's Mexican restaurant located in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. I immersed myself in the Latino culture and focused on the arts always drawing and painting on anything I could get my hands on. I have always been fascinated with fashion and my parents were very supportive of my creativity.
When I was twelve I visited my mother's homeland of Sahuayo, Michoacán and met my Aunt Chata. She is a wedding dress and special occasion designer. Visiting her inspired me to pursue fashion, thus I decided to apply to Otis College of Art & Design.
I was blessed to attend Otis College of Art and Design and major in Fashion Design. Moving through this rigorous program I have grown as a designer and artist. My skills were challenged along with learning new things along the way. I have a new respect for high quality tailored garments and the time and craftsmanship it takes to create them. Going to Otis was the greatest decision I have made pushing me forward to my career. Here I was fortunate to be mentored by professional instructors and high end designer companies.
